Behind the walls of Riyad El Cadi unfolds a sequence of courtyards, stairways and roof terraces, connected by quiet passages – seven riads of different periods, joined into a single whole. Slightly set back from the busier lanes of the medina, yet very much part of Marrakech.
Seventeen rooms and suites, each different in size, light, position and character – some opening onto a courtyard, others onto a terrace or the pool.

About Us

A tour through courtyards, staircases and corridors of seven traditional houses forming the Hotel Riyad El Cadi gives a good impression of the ancient and pure forms of traditional Moroccan architecture.
THE LOCATION
With Riyad El Cadi you will find a riad in Marrakech situated in the very heart of the Medina (Old Town). The riad has its doors at the end of three cul-de-sacs. Thanks to these three entrances and the very central location in a secure part of the old town, you can reach all destinations in the Medina within a very short time.
THE HOSTS
The El Cadi is a hotel with distinguishable rooms. All rooms are individually created and may answer your specific needs. We aim to serve our guests without their being aware of it – as if they stayed with friends. Our service is unobtrusive but always attentive.
THE HISTORY
Herwig Bartels, a long life diplomat and German Ambassador to Morocco was the founder of the riad. Also, he was a connoisseur of the Arab world and a passionate collector of Islamic arts. Exemples of his collection are on display all over the riad.

Friends of culture have a lot to see in Marrakech: Visit the grand Bahia Palace of the former Pacha El Glaoui, the ruins of the Badi Palace with the art treasure of the former pulpit of the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs and walk through the Jewish quarter, the Mellah.
